United States: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research grants about vaccine hesitancy through its allocations but will eliminate many of these grants before the current month ends following four years of Biden administration vaccine distrust initiatives.

More about the news

The Washington Post published a report this week wherein NIH received “a new list of awards that need to be terminated on 3/10/25,” according to the email’s subject line “required terminations.”

“It has been determined they do not align with NIH funding priorities related to vaccine hesitancy and/or uptake,” it continued.

The recent announcement appears four years after the Biden Administration dedicated multiple financial resources to fight vaccine-related misinformation in 2021, Fox News reported.

Open the Books revealed in their November report that “misinformation” or “disinformation” research projects received at least USD 267 million through research grants and contracts from the government.

Furthermore, more than forty grants are on the chopping block; when notifying researchers of the NIH’s termination, they should be told: “not to prioritize research activities that focus on gaining scientific knowledge on why individuals are hesitant to be vaccinated and/or explore ways to improve vaccine interest and commitment.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) dedicated more than USD 17 million during three weeks of February 2021 to fund 15 organizations serving Black, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American populations, according to CBS News reports from that period.

What more are the experts stating?

Progressive groups UnidosUS together with National Urban League received money grants totaling USD 3.2 million and USD 2 million, respectively.

A previously available CDC webpage, “Risk for COVID-19 Infection, Hospitalization, and Death By Race/Ethnicity,” documented that Black people experience higher COVID-19 infection rates compared to White people as of December 2022, as Fox News reported.

“Sure enough, the feds have spent at least $127 million in grants specifically targeted to study the spread of ‘misinformation’ — or to help people ‘overcome’ it, so to speak — by persuading them to go along with COVID-related public health recommendations and mandates,” the Open the Books report mentioned.
